The Dermapen offers unparalleled collagen induction therapy (CIT) by harnessing the body’s innate ability to re-grow and repair the skin as a response to micro-damage. This small, hand-held device delivers up to 1,300 micro punctures per second into the skin, thus stimulating the production of collagen and elastin and normalizing various skin functions.

Dermapen controlled precision promotes the three phases of CIT mechanics, because the process never involves heat or thermal energy, does not use harsh chemicals or cause unnecessary trauma, the skin heals quickly, requiring virtually no downtime.

Because the process activated via micro-needling essentially generates new healthy skin cells to replace aged or damaged ones, applications for the Dermapen are very diverse. The device has been used to treat visible signs of aging, such as skin atrophy and wrinkles, as well as various types of acne scarring, stretch marks, several types of pigmentation disorders, sun damaged skin, and more.

Your clinician will perform a full skin consult prior to treatment as the number of treatments depends on the desired outcome for the skin.

Post treatment care

What to expect after your treatment

  • The treated area will look red and slightly puffy for a day or two with an appearance as though the skin has been sunburnt or wind burnt. Occasionally minor scratches will occur. These may last for a few days and can be covered with makeup (12 hours after the treatment). The deeper we penetrate, the more red and longer lasting the scratches will be. Responses will vary. Some clients see a discernible difference within a few weeks whilst others take longer.

  • Occasionally if there has been several passes performed over an area, pustules and light scratching may form as a result. Generally this response will heal within 24 to 48 hours.

  • It is important to avoid facial waxing, electrolysis, IPL or any laser procedure and the use of hair removal creams for 2 weeks after your treatment.

  • Please follow the post care homecare as prescribed and ensure that the skin is kept moist with a Vitamin B serum ,Rich Hydrating Moisturiser and a SPF 30-50+ Sunscreen.
